It's very frustrating.. TSC is sitting on our application or what? Approx 30K applications are there for July 2nd filer including NSC->TSC transfer(per old NYT report). We see reporting of 1 or 2 receipting a day then few quite days. :mad:

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and our prayers are with you and your family.
But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.
Please send me the private e-mail if you need any help in Mumbai to reach good doctor in Tata Memorial Hospital.

Might have something to do with completely incorrect coment you left regarding 1 yr validity of h1 and all.. it's so not true that probably angered a few members with low BS tolerence
I guess this statement is true.
for example: If there is H1 to H4 conversion on 11/01/07. Last used date of H1 is 11/01/07 and H1 will expire on 11/01/08 since it is unused for an year.
Another example: If H1 is approved on 10/01/07 and not used till 11/01/08. H1 will expire on 11/01/08 since it is unused for an year.

That's the reason I said if we at least get 1000 members then we can ask core members and get their help. members should seriously think if they can make it before they saying yes.. I think even Friday option works as member can take long weekend and spend weekend in DC. We will also get to know all IV members.

I recommend a Monday to a Friday. Most of the media/office folks will take friday off as well like you and me. Media will be fresh on monday and people will get good E fares to fly out into DC on Saturday and fly out on Monday night/Tuesday early morning (if at all some one comes out of town). Also forget the 1000 number. We can have a good impact if we have 300+ members and families. When you put a poll out there, have 2 options for sure
a) I will come to DC on any day at any cost to attend this rally.
b) I want to come but I dont know how it will work out, when the day comes.

One of my friend got "Card Production Ordered" email. He is EB2-I, PD Jan 2006, RD- Sep 30 2007, NSC.
Mine is Dec 2005 and still waiting. So what is going on with NSC? Are they also doing the same thing that TSC is doing? latest cases first?

Hey man. What a brave man you are. Rather then worrying about your self, you are actually concerned about your wife getting her green card. I commend you. I dont what I would have done, If I had been told this news.
your whole family will be in our prayers. I am sure you are seeking all the help you need, but right now your #1 priority should be beating this. Green card will come and go, but your health is number 1.

exactly, spouse/derivate doesn�t get affected at all (other than a shorter or longer delay, depending on calculations).
Anyways, regardless EAD/AP or green card the derivate cant leave the country longer time. There will be no diff for her.
They have no strings attached EAD. Look at ours/primary? Can a programmer-EAD take up Project manager Job? Categorically No.
If the primary gets greencard earlier both (primary with GC, spouse with open-ead) can work/move any place they want.
Plus it is fair this way for some primary waiting in the queue and there is no law tying EBdependent with EBquota.
Again, I am waiting to hear a forum-Attorney or IV-core�s interpretation.

1) Spouse may not get EAD/AP?
The document clearly states that if the primary's priority date is current then the primary can file I-485 and the spouse can file I-485 as dependent.
Once spouse files his/her I-485 he/she becomes eligible for EAD/AP and there are no restrictions on what and where the spouse can work on EAD/AP.
The document only says that the visa must be used from family quota and not from employment quota.
How does it then matter whether the spouse gets green card even after 10 years if he/she can work anywhere, any occupation and full time/part time?
2) Spouse may get GC long after?
Look at it this way currently we have pool of 140K to share among primary and dependents. What if this pool becomes 200K (if we assume 60K from family quota for illustration purpose)? Which one will be faster. It has to be 200K pool.
In any case let the correct rules be followed.

Just a little update, Called up my Senator's office this morning..Started talking about country Cap issue, the guy knew everything about it, he took notes & promised he will pass it on to the Senator. Here's what I suggested him
1) Lift the Country Cap for Temporary period of time, may be just for 2 years.
2) Limit the Maximum waiting time, say if one applicant is waiting for 5 years than country cap should be exempted and he should be given a preference over a person who�s PD is just 1 year old.
He specifically told me 'your second point is very good, I'll certainly share these with the Senator'...
I urge you guys to contact your senators & Congressmen/Congresswomen
We have a group which is focusing on this issue, if you want to join us here's the link

We need to keep the message short. But concise. Media will create all the corresponding articles, and messages. We just need to bring it to their attention, they will figure out after research, that it was "munnabhai". Well, its ones own point of view. My point of view is, a bird in hand is better than two in the bush. Worst case, they'll revoke ur 485 but cannot deny u re-entry to the US based on ur H1B. But if u r on EAD, I'm not sure. Once u r back in the US, u can always dispute the denial by canceling ur Canadian PR and submitting the canceled documents alongwith ur dispute as proof which should definitely put ur GC application back in the reckoning. Again, the question is, is it worth taking the risk? Well, it is...because u didn't get ur Canadian PR just by sitting at home. U did the Finger Printing, U did the Indian PC, U took the english test, U did the medicals, spent so much of ur time, money and energy in the process. Now, by just foregoing all those efforts do u wanna have 100% hopes that ur GC wont be rejected and lose out on ur Canadian option as well? Think about it.
I dont have H1B stamp and i have already used AP, what if they revoke my 485 and ask me to go for stamping and i get stuck for month to receive clearance, i dont know any one in canada and staying in hotel and waiting for clearance could cause me 1000s of $ , not to say, i will not get my pay because my employer didnt do my canadian PR.
I agree, i did spend a lot fo money doing canadian PR process, i did hire a lawyer to do all these and cost me $5000+ but I guess its not worth taking the risk and losing all my savings, I think this is called destiny, being so close to something still not able to get that, meaning it was not meant for me....

I never beleive in polls. The questions are always framed in such a way so that max people go and answer the way the poll wants....example below

I am starting this thread , as there is a thread for July 2nd filers only. This thread can be used for information on receipt number etc., for the I 485 filers who filed between July 17 - Aug 17th.
