More conservatives are backing our cause than liberals. Seems counter initutive to me. Mid-western, southern red state senators are supporting high-tech immigration while I dont seem to hear anything from coastal blue state senators except about illegal immgirants. Why?

Do you have any numbers for advocacy effort participation in terms of EB2 vs EB3 ? You and some EB2 members on this forum seems to be suggesting that they are getting GCs faster because you they did some outstanding effort in terms of IV advocacy effort. Would you mind sharing some evidence in case you have some ?
I didn't see EB2 guys overcrowding that event. There were well meaning, sincere members from both EB2 as well EB3.
Please stop lecturing EB3 guys. If pappu or someone from leadership want to lecture us, it is fine. Not every jack and jill on this forum should lecture us.

My observation was based on the thread that we had for collecting the amount..I didn't see many EB3 folks contribute dollars....but now that 2 EB3 are vouching that enough EB3 folks contibuted, that's great. I just observed something and if it hurt you right down the spine, sorry. I filed PERM 3 months ago, I'm far off in this process. Just focus on advocay so that everyone gets their GCs. Good luck. I hate this EB2 vs EB3, this is a never ending debate. Just hope everyone gets their GC in time.

Congrats! Can you please tell us where your I140 was approved from. Are the checks cashed?
My I140 is pending with NSC since Jan 2007. My attorney issued the checks, So I don't know whether the checks cashed or not.

according to movie, India will be better place because we can make to the arks in Himalayas faster. From north America it will take longer time and we have to find Yuri to get ride. Well, its ones own point of view. My point of view is, a bird in hand is better than two in the bush. Worst case, they'll revoke ur 485 but cannot deny u re-entry to the US based on ur H1B. But if u r on EAD, I'm not sure. Once u r back in the US, u can always dispute the denial by canceling ur Canadian PR and submitting the canceled documents alongwith ur dispute as proof which should definitely put ur GC application back in the reckoning. Again, the question is, is it worth taking the risk? Well, it is...because u didn't get ur Canadian PR just by sitting at home. U did the Finger Printing, U did the Indian PC, U took the english test, U did the medicals, spent so much of ur time, money and energy in the process. Now, by just foregoing all those efforts do u wanna have 100% hopes that ur GC wont be rejected and lose out on ur Canadian option as well? Think about it.
I dont have H1B stamp and i have already used AP, what if they revoke my 485 and ask me to go for stamping and i get stuck for month to receive clearance, i dont know any one in canada and staying in hotel and waiting for clearance could cause me 1000s of $ , not to say, i will not get my pay because my employer didnt do my canadian PR.
I agree, i did spend a lot fo money doing canadian PR process, i did hire a lawyer to do all these and cost me $5000+ but I guess its not worth taking the risk and losing all my savings, I think this is called destiny, being so close to something still not able to get that, meaning it was not meant for me....

I think it is ironic that we (from India) complain about quota on GC when we are the masters of quotas whether it be in education, workplace, politics etc. I myself was not affected by quotas in India, but I know several friends who were, simply because they were born in "upper caste" and therefore had to be denied opportunities as "revenge" for the injustice meted out by their ancestors several centuries ago, instead of being based on economics.
I personally think GC quota has a rationale behind it. It allows for a reasonable share to go to smaller countries so that the US population maintains its diversity. Besides, near the end of the year, if the numbers are unused, they are rolled over to larger countries like India and China, thereby automatically eliminating the quota.
EB based GC should NOT have Quota (.) We are already IN the system. How will it effect diversity. Diversity visa are meant for divesrsity. EB is skill based and only skill should be cared for,

After reading lots of forums contributors, my 2 cents :
a) I think the first thing is ban those people who advise separation of interests or make invidual groups in forums.
As if things happening in india are not enough to divide people on all fronts, a new separation criteria is created here on EB1/EB2/EB3. A lot of us are very creative..wow !!
b) Initiative needs to be well spent and well thought. Its a forum for ideas and further on implementation. So, its for everyone. Taking initiative is not bad, go ahead, but walking tall on other peoples misery is not really very cool !!
People are waiting for 10 years in line, come on..think, if this happens to all of us..
c) Legal and illegal efforts. People accusing core of bank accounts withdrawls and all that nonsense, do not need any rebuttal.
The harshness of things is creeping in people, but pls. some sincerity is also needed.
