Still haven't got mine yet. Attorney suggested another 2 more weeks. Doesn't sound like many (if ANY) have got their receipts yet. The only thing I've seen is that people who paid personally have seen their receipt numbers on cashed check images. This doesn't apply to those who didn't pay personally though.
Who are all still waiting for Receipt notices? please share your info

If country-cap is meant to promote diversity, it should be based on percentage of each ethnic group in US population. Indians and Chinese are a minority in this country.

2) We and institutions like IV needs to come up with agenda to lift this country quota ban (at least to eleminate this huge backlog)
3) IV says they have agenda but nobody knows what thier laundry list is.

Finally we have decided to go back to India for good. I filed my EB3 in May 2003. Its going to be another 4 years to get the green card. When I went to India for vacation last December, we liked it over there & the economy is booming. There are all sorts of discussion regarding the Economic Gap/Politics/Corruption/Cleanliness. But we like it over there. Finally I will have an option to do something interesting. In US I was very much dependent on my monthly pay check and afraid to take even the slightest risk. I am also scared to use the AC21(Hey, thats the way I am). I am working with the same company for last 10 years, kinda stagnant in the last 4 years. In India, there are lots of choices, either to work for a sw company or start some business on my own. I think I will take the business route.
May be I can go there, earn well, send my son to US for college, do green card through him & come retire in US!!!

Only reason i would return to india is to take care of my parents, India has so many issues (corruption,pollution,gundagiri,etc) but need to return one day (Target would be 2017) to take care of my parents, They come to US on vistor visa but thats not enough.

My wife's 485/EAD/AP checks got cashed today. Biometric check not cashed yet. Although when I enter the receipt number in the USCIS website, couldn't find the case . :confused:
All receipts number(from back of check) start with SRCxxxxxx, which means Texas i guess.

If someone ports from EB3 to EB2, then they deserve to be in the front of the queue. Nothing wrong in the process..

This is mainly caused by the fact that many EB-3 India applicants (there are approximately 60,000 EB-3 India pending cases) are �porting� their priority dates into the EB-2 India category and are thus taking visa numbers.
EB2 India is slowwly becoming EB3 as thousands are porting from EB3 to EB2. Some of them are really worthy of EB2 and some of them are fradulent.
EB2 India applicants should wake up from their celebratio of a few months leap and get ready for slow movement or retro.
Guys wake up and fight to make the porting rules veryu strong if not stop porting. That may be a RFE and then eventually you have to give that letter and do more bargaining with your employer...
I am clarifying myself again. I did not mean to suggest that pay stubs can be used in lieu of FUTURE employment letter.
In any case, why not change your employer after 6 months of filing for your I-485. From the way they are treating you, you should be the first one to invoke AC21.
I don't think you will get a RFE within 6 months, but of course you never know. But if we assume normal processing times, I am sure your new employer would give you a letter. However, do consult with an attorney before changing jobs to make sure the job is "same" or "similar".

What pisses me off is that there are 220,000 visa numbers every year for family based GCs while skilled immigrants get only 140,000. Nothing wrong with immigrants wanting to bring immediate family members but this is causing nothing but chain migration. I think USA give more GCs to cab drivers than skilled immigrants.

There might not be any use, and it might not work, but we have tried to get attention thru media, lobby congress and fight our way through. Law-suit is something that will bring a lot of media attention, and also AILF feels there are strong grounds, so why not?.
I think you need to read the grounds on which AILA and other think there is a strong case again. You dont understand the basic issue.. yes they can change the bulletin any time they want, that is perfectly within the law and yes they are not bound to pay compensation. However the fact that in making the dates current overnight and adjudicating so many cases in such a short time and actually requesting a visa # from DOS etc etc are all contravening the law and thats why there is a strong case..

Like many others on these forums, I have given up significant opportunities because I believed mistakenly that the GC mess would be cleared up in 2-3 years. Sometimes that does lead to extreme frustration - My wife often jokes that when I do actually receive my GC, I will have lost a very convenient excuse that the lack of one is holding me back. :-)

Any idea how long it takes for a decision once it has been assigned to an officer?
My wife's case was assigned to an officer on Aug 11th.
in my case iwas exactly 3 weeks.
Someone else mentioned on this forum that the officer will clear all the cases assigned to him/her within 30 days.

As I discussed earlier in this thread, Mine are the same dates as yours and two minutes ago I got the email of Card Production Ordered. It's been more than a month I got the Approval Notice. It seems atlast they uploaded my and my wife's Biometrics from CSC.
I think my call to IO paid off. After trying couple of times I got in touch with a decent IO for 3rd time. She said that Biometrics are missing and she will upload them from CSC. Three days after the call I got this message.
