1) This forum is for skilled legal immigrants
2) Any talk about illegal 'rights' and 'plight' is irrelevant to our discussion
3) Getting defensive about illegals or being offensive to any ethnic community is a sharp deviation from our proposed objectives at IV
4) If we do not have anything constructive to contribute while CIR dies, we should rather have constructive decisions about legal immigration bills or topics
5) Lets stay united and fight it out even though the chips may be down right now.

Got greened today !!. Just recieved CPO emails for me and spouse. Feels really great!!. the long wait has finally ended!... Thank you IV for your efforts. this site's been a great resource throughout the GC journey. On July 15th I have filed for renewal of EAD for both of us, today I got approval email where as my wife status says received and pending and NO LUD either. Infact she needs EAD as she is been working on EAD and it expires in October. I am on H1. Why like that? My PD will be current from September as per September bulletin.

Guys,
It's almost 3 weeks today since I've opened SRs for my self and my spouse for not receiving FP notice and we haven't got any notice yet.
I want to know if some one who opened a SR for FP and did not receive any FP notice after the wait period expired, what did you do? Is taking an infopass the next step for missing FP notices or just wait and watch?

Buddy, it looks like its only you and me remaining who has not received the FP notice. For me its been 30 days since opening SR and nothing. We are the unfortunate ones who have not only not received FP but our application are in TSC , where opening an SR is of no use.
We may want to try a different strategy to inquire about our FP rather than calling that number floating around which is of no use to us. All I got from calling that number was WAIT , Local ASC must be busy.
I am not sure InfoPass appointment will help, but hope its worth trying.

Should we do call the sponsor of this act? The dream act supporters list the senators that are on the fence, and urge them to call and I think we need to start call the main players like Reid, Schumer, Menendez to get them behind our provisions. Any lobbying for immigration is tough at the time of recession. I think you are trying to do advocacy effort. Without getting approval from core IV group it will not be any use as advocacy effort only will not work. Senators will note your concerns and will act only if some bill is introduced. You need lobbying with advocacy effort for changing any law. Lobbyists will lobby only at right time as if they do in wrong time it will backfire.

However some people are too bent on doing this campaign that they forget the realities. Maybe they are having a secure jobs and have EADs. So they have nothing to lose. For people on H1B any wrong step will cause government to shut down the entire immigration or punish immigrants. They did it with TARP and now they will do it in every industry if we do not understand. The newspaper headline will be H1B Indians immigrants asking for greencards after taking American jobs. Like it or not, but this is how antis will show us and all Americans and lawmakers who are sympathetic towards us till now will support antis due to bad economy and for the need of Citizens to stick together in bad times. You have also made this issue of Indians and that is a big no no. Indians now getting a bad name and have become notorious and if you highlight 'Indians' then you are in for a failure. So any campaign should be about all immigrants and not just Indians. Indian Immigrants are having a bad reputation in IT circles these days.

IV core is very much aware of the problems as we ourselves face them, and working within our limited means and time. If you are interested, join us and give your helping hand.
Curious Techie..Core is you and me and dont post such things..but for the core EB-2 would not have been in a postion that it is today..they worked to get this done...you can request them in thier next meeting to bring this issue with USCIS\

This guy is a deshi employer. He is on H1 so he is a silent partner & that why scratching his head.
There are attorneys who will charge only after recovering money. The stupid employer can be sued for lost wages along with civil penalties from which the attorney's fee will be paid.
You can view my past posts in IV, I am not Desi employer but I may become very soon to employ myself (very close to get GC :-) )
Anyway have you gone through yourself with same situation/tension as OP going through or do you know someone closely who have gone through? Have you dealt with attorney yourself?
If that employer sue you, definitely you can counter sue for violation of wage related or h1b related rules and attorney will be the best person to advice you on that. make sure you go to an attorney who practice employement laws and have knowledge or have some other attorney in the same firm who deals in immi related matter. But question is, do you want to go through nightmare of law suites or you just want peace of mind.

It will be the right thing to do as people will always have a reason for not contributing. I doubt we can ever swing the thick skinned folks to contribute.
I understand that one reason for having the free site is for us to have numbers. But, how do these numbers help when most of them are not good for much.
I think it is about time for IV to think and make $25/month minimum fee for accessing this site. IV needs money to lobby to sort GC mess out. At the same time we need serious people ready to volunteer and donate. That is the only way out. We do not need people discussing SRK and Vonage on this site. We might reduce website hits by doing this but at least we will have ust have serious members who actually want to volunteer and work for IV.
